Concept

Beauty and Pridein a Single Leaf

A single tea leaf, Elegant and rich in beauty, Steeped in quiet pride.
Grown in our own tea gardens nestled in the fertile foothills of the Suzuka Mountains,
Each leaf reflects the blessings of the land and the care of our hands.
We honor the legacy of those who passed down their knowledge and skill,
And give thanks to all who continue to preserve the art and culture of tea.
Through the skill and mindfulness of our artisans,
Each leaf becomes truly one-of-a-kind.
We preserve tradition while adapting gracefully to the times,
Delivering moments of joy through the warm embrace of tea
— One leaf at a time, rich in beauty and pride.

History

Where We Stand, and Where We Began

Our journey begins with the roots of tea in Suizawa, Mie— Said to trace back to seeds brought by Kukai in the early Heian period.
Hagimura Seicha’s own history began in 1962, On a 3.5-hectare plot dedicated to cultivating kabusecha and producing tea.
Driven by a commitment to authentic matcha, We installed Mie’s first brick-built tencha furnace in 1996.
It was around this time that we began stone-milling matcha, Staying true to time-honored methods while refining our craft.

Tea Culture of Japan

Tea Culture of Japan— Preserving Spirit and Artistry

We are dedicated to preserving the spirit and artistry of Japanese tea culture.
Rooted in the philosophy of omotenashi—a profound sense of hospitality— Japan’s tea culture has been passed down through the tea ceremony, Perfected by Sen no Rikyu during the Sengoku period.
Through active education and outreach in Japan and abroad, We strive to contribute to its preservation and transmission.
Remaining faithful to traditional matcha production, We uphold time-tested methods such as brick-built tencha furnaces and stone milling.
In doing so, we continue to convey the spirit and artistry of genuine matcha, While constantly refining its quality.
